Schengen zone from the USA and travel ban to four countries

 


US President Joe Biden signed a decree imposing a travel ban on non-US citizens traveling to this country from the Schengen area, the UK, Ireland, Brazil and South Africa.

Biden signed a decree overriding previous President Donald Trump's decision to abolish the travel ban imposed on these countries due to Covid-19, effective January 26, and added South Africa to the previous list.

In the decree he signed, Biden said, "Considering the mutations of Covid-19 and the spread of the disease, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reviewed international travel policies. The Schengen area, UK, Ireland, Brazil and South Africa. After the examination, we decided to apply a travel restriction for people coming to the USA. " used the expression.

Accordingly, non-US citizens who travel from countries included in the decree or who have been in these countries in the last 14 days will not be admitted to the USA. Former US President Donald Trump, in his address to the nation on March 13, 2020, imposed travel restrictions to Schengen countries due to Covid-19, and the UK, Ireland and Brazil were later added to the list.

With the decree signed on January 18, Trump stated that this restriction will be lifted on January 26, 2021.
