Google joins the list of tech companies helping in the fight against COVID-19. The internet giant has pledged to transform some of its facilities in various United States locations into vaccine clinics and to donate $ 150 million to promote vaccine education and access. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai writes that he has partnered with healthcare provider One Medical and public health officials to provide everything from Google-owned buildings to parking lots and open spaces that will contribute to vaccination efforts.

The first locations to offer the service will be Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area in California; Kirkland, Washington; and New York City before expanding nationally. Throughout the US, 29 Google offices will be used, most of which are empty or nearly empty, with most staff working from home.

Google is following Amazon in its commitment to help with vaccine delivery. Jeff Bezos' firm wants to help Joe Biden reach its goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of his presidency. The company has partnered with a third-party occupational health services provider to administer the vaccines at their facility.
