Added an Extra Layer of Security for iMessage with iOS 14

A cybersecurity expert from Google's Project Zero team discovered that Apple added a new layer of security to iMessage with iOS 14. This layer, called BlastDoor, ensures that all data coming from iMessage is examined first, and if malware is found, this data is blocked.

It turned out that the US-based technology giant Apple added a new layer of security to its iMessage application with iOS 14. Discovered by Samuel Grob of Google's Project Zero team, this layer of security prevents all incoming messages from being examined securely first and, in the case of malware, that message from interacting with iOS or accessing user data.

Samuel Grob, who discovered the security layer, states that Apple calls this layer "BlastDoor" and is responsible for parsing all data in the iMessage application. This layer of security helps to get rid of all the vulnerabilities discovered in recent years that cause hackers to attack through iMessage. Meanwhile, cybersecurity experts have managed to detect vulnerabilities in iMessage over and over again.

Samuel Grob did not find this property as a result of arbitrary research. The cybersecurity expert discovered Apple's new security layer while examining a recent cyber-attack attempt against employees of the Qatar-based news channel Al Jazeera using iMessage. But why Apple, which always prides itself on security, did not address this innovation is a big secret.
According to a blog post by the cybersecurity expert, Apple has done the best thing that can be done with this security layer. Because this layer will take iMessage much further than it has ever been. Stating that the application is now much safer, the cyber security expert states that with such solutions, not only a security vulnerability, but any cyber attack will be prevented.
